Roman Catholic Church Gets Vocal in Britain: Scottish Bishop Hits Out at Labour and the Greens - Coming out in Support of the Christian Party Ahead of Election !
Caught between what it sees as the twin threats to Britain—secularism and Islam—the Catholic Church has emerged fighting. Seeking exemptions for Catholic institutions in matters relating to homosexual adoption to faith-based schools, the church has taken on the government in a manner that is unprecedented in modern times.
The Catholic Church is also launching a large-scale campaign in England and Wales against the proposed legalization of physician-assisted suicide. London’s Daily Telegraph reports that Catholic bishops are blanketing two regions with half a million anti-euthanasia brochures and DVDs.
Bishop Joseph Devine, in a pre-election pastoral letter sent to 72 parishes throughout Lanarkshire concludes that Britain's Labour government is "damaging society and the welfare of our children". He said that "It (the Labour government) has trivialised the sacred role of marriage and the traditional family while pressing ahead with the new government imposed morality that all lifestyles are equal and that all types of family are equally good at bringing up children. Labour has presided over the most anti-family legislation this country has ever seen." He also accused the Green Party of having "one of the most intolerant secular agendas of any political party." "God comes before loyalty to any political party".
The LifeLeague says: We commend the Roman Catholic church on these latest moves and wish them every success. Considering that Roman Catholics make up around 9% of the population, isn’t it about time that Protestant churches starting mobilising also?

One in five can expect a 'lonely shameful death' |
|
| |
One in five of us face a lonely and shameful death in a nursing home, as medical advances leave us without family support, an academic has warned. Professor Allan Kellehear said those who imagine they will die in their sleep, surrounded by loved ones, are fooling themselves.
The LifeLeague says: Unfortunately one of Professor Kellehear’s solutions to this problem is the provision of more liberal euthanasia legislation. We suggest that you contact the professor and remind him that care, not killing, is the solution to lonely shameful deaths. Killing the patient will only make their passing all the more miserable and undignified.

The LifeLeague says: This is wonderful news and we warmly congratulate Lennox’s mum and dad. Young Lennox’s life and birth serves to show just how nonsensical abortion and ‘24 week gestation euthanasia’ really is.

Abortion is one issue that no-one should ignore
|
|
| |
As difficult topics go, abortion comes top of the list for many, hovering as it does on the edge of the sexual health minefield, and being so intrinsically a part of many people's core values and beliefs.
The LifeLeague says: The importance of abortion cannot be understated. We appeal to all of our supporters throughout the world to keep campaigning and keep up the pressure, don’t give up. We have the truth on our side, therefore we will come to victory.
