Call to let doctors help patients die |

Patients who want help to die should have that right if they are competent enough to make such a decision, a leading medical ethics personality said on 03.10.07.
Professor Sheila McLean, from Glasgow University, said there were good arguments in favour of legalising physician-assisted suicide (PAS) in the UK.

Welcome move from Roman Catholic bishops |

Catholic bishops have begun a new national anti-abortion campaign aimed at promoting the sacredness of human life.
Next Sunday is to be marked in all parish churches in both the Republic and Northern Ireland as a special day for sermons on the theme of 'Day for Life' 2007.
The LifeLeague says: We welcome this most encouraging move on the part of the Catholic church, we call upon Protestant and Orthodox churches to do likewise. |

Birmingham GP Accused of Arranging Late Abortion Abroad for His Own Daughter
Dr Saroj Adlakha and her daughter, Shilpa Abrol, both faced a charge of conspiracy to commit child destruction abroad, in this case Spain. The case came to light after an investigation by a newspaper. The Crown Prosecution Service now says that efforts to establish the authenticity of the allegations were unsuccessful.
