Secret Trials Staged as GP Surgery Abortions Are Considered
Trials are under way to test whether early abortions could be carried out safely in doctor's surgeries in England, the government has confirmed. The Department of Health (DoH) said the trials at two undisclosed locations were evaluating the 'safety and effectiveness' of such services.

Disabled Peer Baroness Masham of Ilton Defends the Unborn Child |

Pregnant women who find out that their baby has a serious disability would no longer be able to have an abortion under amendments to the law tabled in Parliament. The amendment, tabled by Baroness Masham of Ilton, would remove the right to abortion on grounds of foetal abnormality.

War in the wards as Cardinal issues hardline abortion code |

A fashionable London hospital is bracing itself for more resignations next week in a growing revolt against tough new rules drawn up by the Catholic Church barring doctors from performing abortions or prescribing contraception to patients.
The LifeLeague says: Good riddance to these people. We find it interesting that they were able to work within a hospital when it enabled baby slaughter - yet feel compelled to take 'a principled stand' now that the babies' lives are saved. |

Ireland Opposes European Union Support for Legal Abortion |

The Irish government has voiced concerns about European Union (EU) support for an international initiative that would promote legal abortion in Africa. At a meeting of European foreign ministers, the Irish delegation questioned an EU statement of support for the Maputo Plan, saying that it would violate an established policy against EU endorsement of abortion in other countries.
