Great Great Grandson of William Wilberforce Urges MPs to Oppose HFE Bill

I am writing as the great great grandson of William Wilberforce, who campaigned vigorously for the ending of the transatlantic slave trade in 1807, which ultimately paved the way for the abolition of slavery itself throughout the entire British Empire in 1833. I am often asked what would be the campaigns Wilberforce would be fighting if he were alive in 21st century Britain. I believe that there would be a number of different issues - among them human traffiking and the scourge of drugs. But almost certainly at the top of the list, would be the issue of abortion.

The LifeLeague says: This article carries immense moral weight, coming as it does from a descendent of Conservative MP William Wilberforce, the great evangelical campaigner who fought slavery. We pray that his principled example will be followed by contemporary MPs. Click here and urge your local MP to vote and fight against the HFE Bill in every way that they can.

1,300 Women Have Had at Least 5 Abortions

The scale of women's reliance on abortion was revealed yesterday. As campaigners claimed that termination had become just another form of contraception, figures showed that about 1,300 women had at least their fifth last year.

The LifeLeague says: This tragedy only serves to highlight the utter cruelty and failure of pro-death culture. It also lays to the rest the urban myth that pro-abortionism is pro-women. Who can even begin to fathom the mess that many of these women are in? In addition, we shouldn't forget their thousands of dead babies. For all their sakes, let us continue our pro-life efforts, especially at this holy time of year when we especially remember Our Saviour's triumph over the forces of death and destruction.

Lambeth is UK's Teenage Abortion Capital

Lambeth is the country's teenage abortion capital, according to latest figures. Information released by health ministers showed that more than 17,000 abortions were carried out nationally on women under 18 last year. South London showed the highest regional concentration of terminations, with Lambeth coming out on top. This borough had the equivalent of one in 23 girls having an abortion in a year.

The LifeLeague says: These figures constitute a national shame. The young people of this nation deserve better than a state policy that encourages promiscuity and then facilitates the murder of their babies when such behaviour 'catches them out'. How many more young lives must be destroyed or broken before this immoral government will have the humility to admit that its teen sex strategy has failed?

Paisley Tells Brown - Ulster Still Says NO to Abortion

Ian Paisley has asked Gordon Brown for an assurance that the embryo research bill is not "a back door way to introduce abortion to Northern Ireland ". The DUP leader argued that Stormont was the correct place to deal with the topic of abortion in Northern Ireland.

The LifeLeague says: We are glad and inspired to see that the united pro-life resolve of Northern Ireland's politicians is holding firm in the face of our immoral national government.
