The LifeLeague emerged in 1999 from the frustration and disillusionment rife amongst Pro-Life activists throughout the UK. Many of our founding members were veterans of the mass campaigns of the 70’s and 80’s which achieved nothing. Many people recognised that the ‘Pro-Life’ movement was run by semi-retired people or volunteers who, while decent people, were rarely trained, educated or familiar with the rigours of modern campaigning or the methods employed by professional groups in today’s quick moving, media-dominated world.
We quickly gathered a small group of experienced, professional campaigners together to form the nucleus of a group who were familiar with press coverage, marketing, TV and radio, print production and web technology. We only sign up those people to work for us who are very motivated, expert in their field, driven and most of all, have a love for God and his children. LifeLeague have had more column inches in the media over the last 6 years than any other campaigning group. We have been accredited with the downfall of Government Ministers, MPs, MSPs and officials, therefore it is no surprise that LifeLeague are the most vilified, despised and lied about group in the country.
The LifeLeague is committed to peacefully campaigning to end the violence of abortion; we do not and will not associate with any organisation that does not subscribe to this ideal.
LifeLeague progressed from working out of a garden shed in 1999 to now having offices in Scotland, England and Ulster. We are also involved in partnering groups in Estonia, Malta, Crimea, Hungary, Romania and India. We believe that despite the difficulties we face in this country, we must always where possible help those groups and individuals in developing countries where the need is greatest, God has always provided for this and we are grateful and strengthened through our overseas work and experiences.
Since 1999 the LifeLeague have been involved in every major pro-life struggle, indeed we have often set the agenda and are proactive in bringing the plight of the unborn to the forefront in our society. Every year we provide millions of free top quality literature, postcards, videos, cd, and DVD to inform and educate the public on bio-ethical issues. We believe that in order to stop abortion we first must make abortion and its horrors unacceptable to decent people.
